Rihanna for MAC

On Rihanna's B'Day she revealed that she has teamed up with MAC Cosmetics to create a collection. It will be available at a MAC pop-up shop on May 4th & 5th, when Rihanna’s tour stops at the Barclays Center here in NY.

She tweeted, “That’s right baby, I’m a #MACgal now! Get into it, package designed and products created from scratch by yours truly! Thanks to the EPIC team at #MAC for giving me the opportunity to play and share my favorite shit with my fans and yours.”

Honestly speaking I don't like the colors or packaging in the pic she tweeted, it's rumored that she has a  a red lipstick called RiRi Woo if you know about Ruby Woo you know that color is the quintessential red lipstick...I'm hoping it's a dupe of that.

Flat Out!

Spring is right around the corner and it's time to let go of the boots and let our feet breath! It's not quite sandal weather yet but perfect time for pumps, peep toes & flats...I have a special place in my heart for flats! That's like all I wear to work but I ruin them SO quickly - they last me a few months to a year and dassit! Sooo I really don't like spending more than $50 on them. Last weekend I saw the cutest pair on the Victoria's Secret website. They were really plain, no hardware just an oversized bow for $65, I didn't think they were worth it being that they were so plain with no studs, rhinestones or crystals! I exited the site and went on with my day. BUT here I am 5 days later still thinking about those damn shoes! O_O I think I'll just breakdown and buy them -_- anyhoo here's a few other flats I've been eyeing for my Spring wardrobe

Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients

·         8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped fine
·         4 large egg yolks
·         6 tablespoons sugar
·         1 3/4 cups heavy cream
·         2 teaspoons vanilla extract
·         Pinch of salt
·         shaved chocolate, whipped cream or strawberries for garnish

Directions

Melt the chocolate by adding to a bowl placed over simmering water and stirring until melted and smooth. Remove from the heat.

Whisk together the egg yolks, 4 tablespoons sugar, 3/4 cup heavy cream and a pinch of salt in a medium 2-quart curved bottom saucepan. Place over medium heat and stir constantly until the mixture is thick, about 3 minutes. Whisk in the chocolate and vanilla. Strain the mixture into a large bowl using a fine mesh sieve and place in the refrigerator until chilled, at least 30 minutes.

Beat the remaining 1 cup heavy cream and remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chilled chocolate. Divide the mousse evenly among 4 individual serving dishes and cover with plastic wrap. Place in the refrigerator to chill for at least one hour. Serve with shaved chocolate, whipped cream or strawberries

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

As we all know Valentine's Day is approaching, in the next few days I'll share with you some easy chocolate recipes to share with your Valentine or if your single you can watch chick flicks and eat them all yourself :-D
Ingredients

1 dozen ripe strawberries

1 cup chopped chocolate (preferable) or good-quality chocolate chips

Directions

Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with aluminum foil.

Wash the strawberries and dry them thoroughly.

Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave until it is melted, stirring after every 30 seconds. Overheated chocolate gets thick and hard to work with, so it's important to keep a careful eye on the chocolate. Remove it when some pieces are still not melted, and stir until they melt.

Holding a strawberry by the stem, dip it in chocolate, twirling it in a circular motion to evenly cover most of the berry. As you lift it from the chocolate, twirl it so that any excess chocolate drips back into the bowl.

Place the berry on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with remaining berries and chocolate.

Once all of the berries are dipped, refrigerate them for 30 minutes to set the chocolate. These candies taste best when eaten the same day they are made.

Note: you can also roll the berries in chopped nuts, or sprinkles after dipped in the chocolate.

Also you can soak your berries in chocolate flavored vodka for a few hours prior to dipping in the chocolate.

Empanadas

Or meat pies or beef patties whatever you prefer

I love these and my family loves them even more…it’s always requested that I bring these to whatever party or event I’m invited to. I hope you guys enjoy them as much as we do

Ingredients

1lb ground sirloin (I’m sure you can substitute with ground turkey but I’m not about THAT life)
1 can tomato sauce
chopped garlic
sazon
herbs de provence
adobo
onion/garlic powder
2 packs of goya (puff pastry) empanada shells
1 bag of mexican blend shredded cheese
vegetable oil

I eyeball everything so I’m sorry I can’t give you exact measurements but all seasonings should be added to taste. I go heavy on the chopped garlic because I love it! - the tomato sauce is really my secret weapon and of course you can’t go wrong with cheese, I use the whole bag…but if you don’t want it you can totally omit it.

Directions

Defrost empanda shells

Brown meat and season, drain oil if you have to. Once the meat is done sprinkle with cheese and let cool

when the meat is cool add a heaping tablespoonful into shell. You can close shell using a fork OR you can pinch it down with your fingers. I prefer to use my fingers because it’s much faster than the fork method.

Deep fry until golden brown and enjoy!
